Pink Shirt Day 2024
It is always uplifting to see the power that is generated when people join in solidarity. Pink Shirt Day is a perfect example of how a simple action, deciding to wear pink on February 28, indicates to everyone that our community supports healthy relationships
and takes a stand against bullying. Pink Shirt Day originated in Nova Scotia in 2007 when a male student was targeted by others for wearing a pink shirt to school. In response, hundreds of students showed up the following morning wearing pink both as a way
to support the student and to demonstrate that bullying behaviours cannot be tolerated. Pink Shirt Day is a powerful statement about belonging!
The Alberta theme for this year is Choose Kindness – Kindness is Contagious.
